Registration

Tuition

There is a $350 registration fee per FAMILY per school year for micro school students.

Registration fees may be paid after initial intake consultation. Registration fees must be paid before courses are selected and students are placed in classes.

Once families complete registration we can then begin investigating the course level appropriate for your student. Some courses are individual level (like math) there are other courses that are grouped by grade (like history).

Math work will be on your students individual level but the classroom will match with your childs near age peers.

(Example a student is in grade 4 by age but her/his math work is 6th grade level. The class will be a school house style with grade1-4 but the students math book will be grade 6. The next year the child would graduate to the middle grade classroom with grades 5-8 and would move to the grade 7 math)

Bible is an independent course as parents should have the text that aligns best with their values and belief system.

Electives will change at the semester and match with the students age group.

Students are matched in class with their peers

Grade 1-4

Grade 5-8

Grade 9-12

We do not take Kindergarten students. Please enroll for grade 1 early as we do fill up and have a wait list.

State Registration

For registration as a homeschooler in your state please check with your local county and state laws. We can provide more information on how to register if additional help is needed.

Transcripts / Portfolio / State Testing

All enrolled students will receive a transcript of courses completed yearly (June). Additional transcripts may emailed upon request.

Portfolios may be created if needed for your district for $50.

State testing will be available yearly using California Achievement Test. This test is delivered online and will be built into each Childs schedule yearly for those taking a full grade curriculum.

A fee required by the California Achievement Testing center will apply based on their current rates. Scores will be sent automatically to parents emails for records. We can help parents with registering for tests and turning in records if there are any questions.

Students who wish to take the California Achievement Test not enrolled in full grade curriculum will be directed to register for the test at the California Achievement Test website. We will not build the time into your child's school schedule for taking the test if they are not enrolled in full grade curriculum.

Refunds

We offer no refunds on registration, books and supplies, or course tuition. This applies to micro school and online  courses.

We do offer the option to change course level should the level not match your students needs.

We also may freeze the course in some circumstances due to family hardship if your child cannot complete the course during the allotted time.*

*This is subject to administration approval and is for circumstances beyond the families control - like sickness or family emergencies. Course freezing is not permitted for students who have a difficulty meeting deadlines, or do not personally enjoy the course.  Course freezing will typically only be available for the current school year and will not roll over to the next school year.

Accreditation:

Santa Clara Academy is currently undergoing review to qualify for accreditation. We believe in the freedom for micro schools and homeschoolers and that they should be able to seek rigorous curriculum that suits each individual students needs.

However, as an organization we also feel a duty to be accountable to parents, students, and our staff. We believe that seeking and completing the accreditation process will serve our families needs as we grow. Please check back for updates on our accreditation process.

Books and supplies

Book and supply fees must be paid before your child attends class.

Students in grades K-2 have a book fee of $120 per year.

Students in grades 3-4 have a book fee of $150 per year.

Students in grades 5 and above have a book fee of $175.

**This includes workbooks, reading books, texts, and any specialty supplies needed.

**Prices may or may not include items for labs.  science labs may use basic household materials like salt and these items may not be included in book kits. Science Labs with items not included in book kits are optional and students may choose to watch a pre recorded lab if they do not have all materials. **

We share as many texts as we can to save on costs, however, there are workbooks and text that will be your students property during the school - such as math and english workbooks. We feel that supplying the students their own workbooks in certain subjects helps to keep them organized and allows for academic review when needed.
